Meditations for Busy People

A close relationship exists between the breath and our mind, and the benefits of even the simplest breathing meditation are now well known. By engaging in breathing meditation, we can create space in our minds from the busyness and problems of everyday life and experience a special feeling of inner peace. If we are centered and balanced, it is also easier for us to get things done and help others.
Join us for any or all of these breathing meditation classes, where you can learn how to calm your mind, reduce stress, and experience a warm heart and wellbeing.

A typical class consists of relaxing guided meditations and a teaching on how to improve our well-being by developing positive states of mind and inner peace in our daily life. The classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced practitioners and are drop-in classes that are self-contained and can be joined at any time. You may sit on a chair or on cushions on the floor.

Cost: $10 per class. Seniors/Students: $7 per class.

Preregister online or pay at the door. No one is excluded due to lack of funds.

Meditation classes offer the chance to learn how to make our mind calm and peaceful. By training in meditation we will learn to develop inner peace, giving us the ability to stay happy and positive all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Meditation offers an opportunity to change the way we react to people and difficult situations in our life. Learn how to feel calm, peaceful and relaxed, no matter what problems are arising. Using simple yet profound techniques, discover how to feel happy and have a positive outlook by gaining more control of your mind through meditation.

In these classes, we learn meditations to unwind and relax, develop stronger concentration and to settle our busy minds.

Do I have to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation?
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.

Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend the classes?
No. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

What do I need to bring to class?
Nothing in particular, just yourself; though you can bring a pen and notepad if you want to take notes.

How should I dress for class?
No particular clothing is required. Just dress comfortably.
